These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of shadowcompanysc.org, the Shadow Company recruitment and support systems, the Shadow Company Contract Portal, and related services. By using these services, creating an account, submitting information, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility and Accounts
You must provide accurate information and be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you must have permission from a parent or guardian. You are responsible for your account credentials and all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
2. Community and Portal Conduct
You may not use our services to harass others, impersonate another person, submit unlawful or malicious content, interfere with service operation, bypass access controls, scrape or exploit the service, distribute malware, or misuse another user's information. Shadow Company may moderate content and restrict, suspend, or revoke access when necessary to protect the community or services.
3. Recruitment, Membership, and Staff Access
Submission of an application or access request does not guarantee approval, membership, rank, staff status, assignment, or continued access. Shadow Company may approve, deny, change, or revoke roles and permissions at its discretion. Organization ranks and in-game roles have no employment, military, governmental, or legal authority.
4. Contracts and In-Game Services
Portal contracts relate to gameplay and community coordination unless expressly stated otherwise. Contract availability, assignment, staffing, leadership, completion, and results are not guaranteed. Users must follow applicable game rules, platform terms, and Shadow Company policies. Do not use the portal for unlawful activity or transactions involving prohibited real-world goods or services.
5. Merchandise and Orders
Merchandise orders are fulfilled through third-party services, including Shopify and Printful. Product appearance, color, placement, and sizing may vary slightly from screen previews. Prices, availability, shipping estimates, and product details may change. We may cancel or refuse an order because of pricing errors, suspected fraud, product unavailability, legal restrictions, or other reasonable operational concerns. Purchases are also governed by our Refund Policy.
6. Intellectual Property
Our original website design, text, graphics, and Shadow Company materials may not be copied, republished, sold, or commercially exploited without permission. Third-party names, games, images, marks, and services belong to their respective owners. Shadow Company is a fan-operated community and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Cloud Imperium Games, Roberts Space Industries, Discord, Twitch, Shopify, Printful, or their affiliates.
7. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Shadow Company a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, display, transmit, and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, moderate, and improve the services. You represent that you have the right to submit the content.
8. Third-Party Services
Our services may link to or depend on third-party platforms. We are not responsible for third-party availability, policies, security, content, or actions. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.
9. Disclaimers
Our services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, fitness for a particular purpose, or specific gameplay or commercial results, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shadow Company and its volunteers, members, and administrators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, lost profits, or loss of access arising from use of the services. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Termination
You may stop using the services at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, security risks, abuse, inactivity, organizational changes, or discontinuation of a service. Provisions that reasonably should survive termination will remain in effect.
12. Changes and Contact
